
Research question: Many LGBTQ activits argue that marriage is not the most important issue in their communities. Research alternative perspectives of
people who are LGBTQ and/or working in these communities who are critical of the emphasis that the mainstream LGBTQ rights movement has placed on
marriage equality. What are the other issues that they identify as priorities? What are the other types of families and relationships do they want to see
protected? How are these alternative positions shaped by race, class and gender?
