Please scour the internet to find at least two videos related to the cognitivebehavioral theories and approaches. Copy and paste the video links into your discussion, and then respond to the following: • Why did you select this video? • Was there anything, in particular, that resonated with you or helped you to understand one of the developmental theories? • How do you think viewing the video might help your classmates? • Is there anything, in particular, that you believe the video missed? If you include external research, please do not forget to include it in your initial response
This is a paired task. You may want to consider using DropBox or Google Drive with your partner to maintain an ongoing discussion document. This task requires you to write a critical analysis of the Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians (MCEETYA, 2008). More information about this assessment will be provided throughout the course and avialable on Blackboard. Use the questions in the Policy Analysis Framework Handout as an initial way to read and analyse the policy and related documents. Use government releases, supporting documents, academic research, media, and other resources to explore the strengths and weaknesses of the policy, and the debates about the social issues it is trying to address. Using your reading of the policy and the research you have done, write an assessment of the policy which: • Demonstrates an understanding of the social/historical/political contexts in which the policy emerged. • Critically analyses and assesses the key ambitions of the policy in relation to issues of difference and/or inequality in education. • Uses evidence from relevant professional literature, media, and peerreviewed articles, to support analysis of the specific policy, and/or the related social issue. • Uses relevant concepts/issues/debates in this analysis. A creative and meaninful title which indicates to the reader the focus of your analysis (e.g., do not merely name it ‘Policy Analysis’) A clear introduction that describes the focus of your analysis and the main point you are making about your assessment of the policy. A carefully written mainbody which logically develops your analysis of the policy, and provides evidence/support for this assessment through the use of relevant resources (i.e., quotes from the policy documents, academic articles, etc). A succinct conclusion which draws together the main ideas of your analysis. Full intext referencing, and a reference list at the end of the essay. See APA formatting guide in Little Blue Book or the Purdue Owl Online Resource. Cite a minimum of 2 peer reviewed soureces and 2 additional sources to pass the assessment.

PART1 The sound revolution in cinema in interwar era A. Introduction (avantgarde time, the sound revolution, social and economic context B. Literature review C. Methodology D. Filmmakers and script writers: the development of a new art using sound 1. Benjamin Fondane and his connections with Sestov, Victoria Ocampo, writers, , painters, sculptors, politicians, poets) + analyzing in parallel with Fondane, the film theories (including sound) of: 2. Grigori Aleksandrov and Lyubov Orlova 3. Germaine Dulac 4. Charlie Chaplin 5. Alfred Hitchcock 6. Hans Otto Löwenstein 7. Carmine Gallone 8. Heinosuke Gosho 9. Benjamin Fondane and Mario Peixto (similarities: They were both poets Fondane as well as Peixto wrote the cinepoems), writers, scriptwriters, film directors. Both directed the first film with lots of passion, although their movie was not so well received back to 1930s (Fondane directed ‘Tararira’ in 1936) and both were very well criticized postum as one of the best filmmakers of their era. E. Conclusion PART 2 Avantgarde film theories and the experimental cinematic practices between the war (in the view of Benjamin Fondane) A. Introduction B. Literature review C. Conclusion Benjamin Fondane’s cinematic career (to be included inside the chapters): 1. Cinepoems and Un Chien Andalou of Dali (the film was inspired from cinepoems) 2. The similarities between Fondane and Mario Peixto 3. Fondane and Tararira – the lost film 4. Fondane and Rapt (his implication as a scriptwriter, the fact that his name was mentioned more than Kirsanof’s (the director), Fondane’s view about Rapt (sound, music, theme, actors, miseenscene). 5. Fondane and other films at Paramount Pictures 6. ‘The Discreet Charm of The Bourgeoisie’ – film inspired from Tararira, or an improved version of Tararira (reasons: 1. Bunuel directed the movie in French – why French, and why France when he could use actoes from SUA? 2. Both films are satires of the burgeoise. 3. The film is produced in 1972, long time after Fondane’s death and long after the Jewish persecution, like he waited his career to grow, to get enough experience and direct a mature film in Fondane’s memory). 7. Fondane: the Nostradamus of cinema (he talked about color cinema, 3D cinema, the fact that visuals can be a mediocrity tool, etc.)

Currently under the Common Rule (will upload), research using existing biospecimens (clinical or from prior research) can be done WITHOUT consent by stripping the specimens of identifiers. A potential change to this is currently under consideration. Proposed reforms would require WRITTEN CONSENT for research use of biospecimens, even those that have been stripped of identifiers. Here is the essay questions: DO YOU AGREE THAT WRITTEN CONSENT FOR RESEARCH USE OF BIOSPECIMENS SHOULD BE REQUIRED,EVEN WHEN SPECIMENS HAVE BEEN STRIPPED OF IDENTIFYING INFORMATION? WHY OR WHY NOT?
